final week countdown!

Our planning group made the decision after last year's Mission JC in April 2024 to move this year's Mission JC to the fall. We felt our overall work would be more effective by not being back-to-back with SERVE JC in April. More overall work could be done, and different needs could be met.

It is only a few days until October 19 and the culmination of months of planning. Hundreds have volunteered for about 50 projects. Some churches are dismissing worship to participate. Others are encouraging members to volunteer this Sunday. The weather forecast looks good. The Chiefs aren't even scheduled to play until noon - and an away game at that!

At this point we are concerned with projects that could use more people, and making sure we have the supplies on hand that are balanced with the number of people we anticipate will turn out.

However, we need to keep in mind why this is our 11th year of Mission JC. It is because for many of us we are sharing God's love through service to our city. Others want to be a part of something special and care for our community.

If you haven't signed up yet, please do so. Make plans to join us at the First Baptist Church gym on Monroe (a different location!) in your red shirt @ 8 am and then serve from 9-12.  Don't forget to use the hashtag #missionjc2025 when you share your stories and pictures..
